Officers like Capt. Perez strategize, plan and oversee operations that involve attacking hostile shores from sea (that’s the amphibious part). He is directly responsible for over 100 amphibious combat vehicles or ACVs (that’s an eight-wheeled, 16-person transport!), the Marine Corps’ next-generation vehicles designed to move Marines from ship to shore, giving them the flexibility to go anywhere and support any mission at any time.
