    The Outpost program at Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) introduces students to the importance of both the Navy khaki uniform and routine personnel inspections. Candidates also transition from living in the indoctrination building to the officer candidate quarters to signify the next part of their education.

Chief Petty Officer Dawn Calhoun: The purpose of Outpost is to introduce the proper wearing of the khaki uniform to our students. This is the first time they are in their khaki uniform. This is their first introduction to a personnel inspection as well. Outpost also has the indoctrination candidates transition from the indoctrination wing to the officer candidate phase of officer candidate school training.
